Day 174: Teacher Fired for Porn Past - Sabotaged by Survival

Stacey Halas, a middle school science teacher, was fired after students discovered she had starred in porn movies in the past. She's lost her bid to return to work as a teacher after 3 judges ruled she is unfit for the classroom.

She says she only did porn to make money during a nine month period when she was experiencing financial problems, and has not been involved in porn since. And though acting in porn is legal, the fact that her pornographic material is still available on the internet for students to see, has sabotaged her chance to work as a teacher.
"Judge Cabos-Owen wrote: 'Although (Halas') pornography career has concluded, the ongoing availability of her pornographic materials on the Internet will continue to impede her from being an effective teacher and respected colleague.'"
This scenario demonstrates how, within the current system Laws are not designed to protect what is best for all. Now some might say that it is 'best' for this woman to not be allowed to teach, because her porn past will influence her effectiveness as a teacher when students are sitting there fantasizing about her, or because parents would find it offensive for a former porn star to be teaching their children. But this line of 'reasoning' ignores the actual problem that created this situation in the first place, the actual problem that led to this woman doing something that later sabotaged her opportunity for a job she has the skills and qualifications to do. 'Financial problems' is where you don't have, and aren't able to get enough money right now to cover your cost of surviving and living effectively. And yet - everyone needs to survive and live effectively, so what's best for everyone is that everyone should be able to survive and live effectively at all times. But instead, we have a system where it's possible to have 'periods' in which you are 'short of money'. And in this case, this money shortage was the motivating factor in her decision to do porn. So what is the problem - the woman's decision to do porn, or a system where money is not equal and it's possible to have scenarios where you're abruptly 'cut off' from money and are stuck without what you need?

The woman's decision to do porn was a Consequence - an Outflow of the actual Problem which is an Unequal system - a system where the Law allows people to exist in a state of being cut off from support. And the law then also allows the existence of the Porn industry which capitalizes on people's willingness to do porn because they need Money. And yet, none of this was taken into account within the Judges' decision to prevent the woman from teaching - because Judges are not trained to do what is best for All - Judges are trained to enforce the Law - and the Law protects an Unequal System. The Law protects Poverty - whether extreme poverty or just a 'period' in which one is not having enough income coming in - it's still Poverty - and Poverty is Profitable.

Within a system of Equal Money Capitalism, this would not have happened. This woman would probably be teaching right now. In EMC, a person is supported at all times with the means to access the required resources and services to fulfill one's basic needs and living requirements - because such things are a basic Human Right and essential to a dignified existence. One's profession, one's work is supposed to be something that is personally rewarding in that you are doing something you enjoy and are good at. In EMC, 'jobs' that only exist as the result of the need for money, will be abolished. Accepting and allowing Laws that protect Poverty is the Cause of industries such as Porn becoming so prominent - where a person is Enslaved through their basic living needs, by offering the promise of quick cash. In EMC, allowing anyone to exist in a state of poverty where they do not have immediate access to support to live effectively, is a violation of one's Constitutional Equality that protects one's freedom to Live and Work and contribute one's skills in the way that best suits your Expression, as long as it does not seek to harm or enslave another.

The rewards of such a system are in how the 'underbelly' of society, which is primarily people who engage in various illicit acts like Prostitution and selling Drugs in order to make Money - will be eliminated. And in fact would never have developed in the first place if we had always had a system of Equality where Quality of Life is protected by Law from Birth to Death for All, and where everyone receives an Equal quality of Education and Opportunity to learn what they are truly good at in how they can contribute their skills within a profession that they find personally Rewarding.
